On Monday at 8:15 PM, the 30th season of the matchmaking show "Liebesg'schichten und Heiratssachen" premieres on ORF 2, in which host Nina Horowitz introduces six singles from all over Austria.

Proven concept since 1997

The ORF program has been a fixture in Austrian television for decades. TV legend Elizabeth T. Spira first set out in search of lonely singles in 1997, as ORF writes. "Mit viel Schmäh, der aber nie auf Kosten der Teilnehmenden geht," Nina Horowitz (also directing) interviews the candidates and accompanies them on their journey to a potential new favorite person.

In the first episode of the new season, six singles introduce themselves. Among them is Brigitta, 65 years old and from Lower Austria. She is looking for a partner who "ordentlich ausschaut," is at least ten years younger, and has "wenig Haare." Daniel, in turn, is looking for a woman who likes children and has a nice laugh. The author writes that he is "mehr als 35 Jahre jünger" than another participant. His mother apparently had it on her mind: she wanted to play matchmaker before the show — "würde mich am liebsten am Marktplatz versteigern!" he quips.
