Anniversary season of "Liebesg'schichten und Heiratssachen" premieres Monday on ORF 2

Six singles in the first episode

Karin, 60 years old and from Linz, is also on the hunt for her "Herzblatt." With her new partner, she wants to visit museums and stroll hand-in-hand through the city center. A contrast is provided by 72-year-old Otto, who describes himself as a "Kulturbanause." He is looking for a "liebe und treue" life partner with whom he can laugh — "Oper muss aber nicht sein."

From Tyrol comes Michl (51), a master baker and lederhosen-wearer who lives with his dog Danger. "Zurückwünschen tue er sich die Monarchie nicht, aber Geschichte gehöre gepflegt" — in the event of a move to eastern Austria, the baker would bring his monarchist memorabilia with him. His appetite for love is "ziemlich ganz groß." Silvana is also featured in the new season; the "siebzig plus"-year-old cites dancing as an important quality. After the death of her husband, she "wieder Freude am Leben" gefunden, she says — and wishes for a new great love that "ein bisschen gut aussehn" darf.

54 Austrians in the running

In total, Nina Horowitz visited 54 singles for the anniversary season — 27 women and 27 men from all over Austria. With 16 applicants, Vienna forms the largest contingent. Styria and Lower Austria follow with nine candidates each, tied for second place, ORF further reports.

The program is listed by ORF as a "Kult-Sendung" and, by its own claim, appeals "von jung bis alt" to all age groups. After 29 preceding seasons, the anniversary season is another chapter in the series, continuing the proven mix of humor, empathy, and everyday stories.

A new beginning with tradition
