On Tuesday, the trial of an 18-year-old Iraqi man began before the Vienna Regional Court. He is alleged to have attacked a 16-year-old with a knife in Esterházy Park, acting, according to the prosecution's assessment, with conditional intent to kill.
The indictment charges the defendant with attempted murder. At the opening of the hearing, the prosecutor described that the young man had stabbed the 16-year-old in the neck with a knife. Anyone who stabs into that region acts with conditional intent to kill, the prosecutor argued: "Wenn die Schlagader getroffen wird, verblutet man ziemlich schnell, wenn man nicht rasch Hilfe bekommt."
