Austrian Airlines rejected on Tuesday a media report claiming that the airline would withdraw completely from Innsbruck. The airline stated that it is in "close and constructive dialogue" with Innsbruck Airport and that no decisions have yet been made beyond the winter flight schedule 2026/27.
Austrian Airlines (AUA) has rejected a report by the Kronen Zeitung Tirol claiming that the airline would withdraw entirely from Innsbruck by the end of the summer flight schedule and would create a replacement in the form of a virtual Tyrolean airline.
The Kronen Zeitung had reported in its Tyrolean edition, citing a confidential source, that AUA would completely withdraw from Innsbruck and discontinue scheduled service at the location by the end of the summer flight schedule. According to "reliable sources," a virtual Tyrolean airline was to be founded — in cooperation with the German company "Avanti Air" and a Tyrolean investor.
