The Austrian government has outlined its priorities for the upcoming National Council plenary session, focusing on asylum reforms, inflation relief, and energy policy, with ÖVP, SPÖ, and NEOS leaders highlighting coordinated efforts.

Asylum and Migration Reforms

Ernst Gödl, the new ÖVP club leader, emphasized the importance of internal security and the Common European Asylum System (GEAS). Accelerated procedures at external borders aim to better control irregular migration, while family reunification will face further restrictions. Gödl stated, *"Die Quote kann und wird sehr gering sein."* (The quota can and will be very low.)

NEOS has long advocated for the European asylum pact, stressing the need for "order at the external borders" and a "consequent return policy." The party also supports child protection measures, advocating for "care from day one."
