The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) initiated a cause-based examination on July 15 of the consolidated financial statements of Eckert & Ziegler SE as of December 31, 2024, as well as the associated summarized management report.

According to BaFin's statement on Wednesday, the supervisory authority has concrete indications that the company incorrectly stated the ultimate controlling party in the course of the spin-off of Pentixapharm AG. At the same time, the authority sees evidence that the derecognition of assets and liabilities of the former subsidiary was incorrectly accounted for without impact on profit or loss, although control did not consistently lie with the same party. BaFin justified the step with Section 107 (1) sentence 5 of the Securities Trading Act (WpHG), according to which initiated cause-based examinations must be announced.
