Harry Kane made a decisive comeback during the voting period for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, overtaking Kylian Mbappé by only the narrowest of margins.
Harry Kane made considerable gains during the voting period for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. In the end, the Bayern star finished only narrowly ahead of Kylian Mbappé. Vincent Garcia revealed the size of the eventual gap between the two in his analysis of the vote.
The award for the world’s best player is not decided by a single jury. The voting was open to one journalist from each of the top 100 nations in the FIFA world rankings. This means every nation ranked among the top 100 in the FIFA world rankings is represented exactly once in the vote distribution.
