Tewaag set the tone for the public announcement on Instagram. Alongside a photo of the two of them, he posted the line "Find what you love & let kill you!" – roughly in English: "Find what you love, and let it kill you." The line is a well-known quote often used as a life motto, standing for radical devotion to a passion.

Back in September of last year, Tewaag had raved about the Camino de Santiago to "Bild": "Der Jakobsweg ist pures Glück." His premonition at the time now seems to have been confirmed. The nearly 800-kilometer-long pilgrimage route runs from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in the French Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain.

Reality Star with a Turbulent Past

Tewaag sees the timing of his engagement as a deliberate choice. "Ich bin jetzt 50. Das ist das richtige Alter, um zu heiraten", he said. The 50-year-old became known through TV formats such as "Promi Big Brother", which he won in 2016, as well as through appearances on "Kampf der Realitystars". There, however, he showed little enthusiasm and admitted: "Ich kenne hier niemanden".

Tewaag has also made headlines in the past outside of reality formats – including with a cosmetic surgery mishap that led him to court. Little was previously known about his private relationships; with his engagement, the son of acting icon Uschi Glas is now revealing a new, personal chapter of his life.

Tewaag did not elaborate on the specific circumstances of how they met on the pilgrimage route. However, both the groom-to-be and the bride-to-be emphasized to "Bild" the lightness and mutual understanding they found with each other along the way. The wedding planning itself, as well as a concrete date, were not announced.

The announcement comes amid a phase of heightened media attention for the 50-year-old. While many fans celebrated the move on social media, Tewaag himself stuck to his characteristic mix of pathos and irony — fully in keeping with the life motto he attached to his engagement post.
