Agreement of the district chairs

The round of district chairs of the Berlin CDU agreed on Friday evening to nominate 46-year-old Stefan Evers as the top candidate for the House of Representatives election on September 20, 2026. As CDU Berlin announced, the state executive board is to confirm the recommendation as quickly as possible. Hessian Minister-President Boris Rhein (CDU) called Evers the right candidate for a successful, fast-paced directional campaign. North Rhine-Westphalian Minister-President Hendrik Wüst (CDU) also praised the CDU finance politician in the "Tagesspiegel" as "die perfekte Wahl für Berlin".
