Berlin's Landeswahlleiter Stephan Bröchler has outlined how homeless residents can cast their ballot in the Abgeordnetenhauswahl scheduled for 20 September 2026, with welfare groups urging greater awareness of the procedures.
The Berlin state election, formally the Wahl zum Abgeordnetenhaus von Berlin, will take place on 20 September 2026. Roughly 2.5 million eligible voters are registered in the city, but officials and advocacy groups stress that a significant group — people without fixed housing — also has the right to participate and faces practical obstacles in doing so. Landeswahlleiter Stephan Bröchler presented the procedures in a briefing, according to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur and rbb24.de.
