CDU politician Steffen Bilger has clarified in the debate on electromobility that he sees no need for constantly new subsidy programs for electric cars, and referred to existing instruments of the black-red federal government.

CDU politician Steffen Bilger has spoken out against constantly new subsidy programs for electric cars. From the federal government's current perspective, he sees no need to repeatedly launch new incentives for the purchase or leasing of e-cars, since existing instruments are already taking effect.

According to information from the Transport Ministry, the black-red federal government of CDU/CSU and SPD subsidizes the purchase and leasing of pure electric cars, certain plug-in hybrids that use both electricity and fuel, as well as e-cars with range extenders. This provides interested parties with a bundle of support options, without a new program needing to be launched every year.
