Block Custody Trial: Witness Says She Expected Different Reaction from Children

"I was really sad and a bit upset," the witness said. "I also cried."

A Confidante's Role

The witness also described how she became a confidante to the accused mother before the act. She said the family lawyer asked her in 2023 to accompany Christina Block to court dates in Denmark and support her. "We were together a lot," she stated.

According to the indictment, the witness was the "right hand" of the head of the cyber-security firm allegedly responsible for the abduction. For the prosecution, the 51-year-old is a suspect, and she was granted safe conduct for her testimony in Hamburg.

Conflicting Testimonies

The daughter of Eugen Block, founder of the "Block House" steakhouse chain, is accused of commissioning the abduction after a lengthy custody dispute and is contesting the charges.

The witness had previously testified that the mother knew about the plans for New Year's Eve 2023/24, though without knowing the details. She maintained that Block was briefly present at a meeting on the 28th.

When confronted with differing time accounts from the men involved, the Israeli woman consistently rejected their versions. "He was mistaken," she said to each of their time claims, standing by her statement.

The boy, then ten years old, and the 13-year-old girl were taken to a farm in Baden-Württemberg. The trial continues.
