The Munich automaker BMW delivered 590,962 vehicles worldwide in the second quarter of 2026, 4.9 percent fewer than in the same period the previous year.

Over the past three months, the Munich-based group delivered 590,962 cars. That was 4.9 percent less than in the same period of the previous year, according to figures released on Thursday. A year ago, BMW had still reported slightly rising sales for the second quarter. The current decline therefore comes in a phase in which the manufacturer's business outlook has noticeably darkened.

The core brand was particularly weak: With a decline of 7.7 percent to 508,675 cars, the main business fell significantly short of expectations. Across the group, the weak business in China is causing particular concern. Sales slumped by 30 percent to 117,815 cars.
