Vienna, 01 July 2026
In the ongoing cartel proceedings against Brau Union, presiding judge Eva Maria Vetter on Tuesday called on both the brewing group and the Federal Competition Authority (BWB) to use the summer break for „constructive" settlement talks and to bring the proceedings „to an end at some point."
Further hearing dates in autumn were set at the hearing at the Cartel Court in Vienna. As the judge announced, witness examinations are to take place on 21 and 28 September, 19 October, and 9 November. „I would like to reach a conclusion at some point," said Vetter. To date, there have been twelve court hearing days in the case since February 2025.
