Miami, July 22, 2026

Inter Miami announced on Wednesday the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who signed a contract through the end of 2027 with an option to extend through June 2029.

The move came after his contract at Manchester United expired at the end of June. Inter Miami communicated the transfer through an official statement. Casemiro joins Major League Soccer as a free agent, with no transfer fee involved.

Speaking about his move, Casemiro said: „Das Projekt, das mir der Verein vorgestellt hat, und die Anstrengungen, die alle unternommen haben, um mich hierher zu holen, bedeuten mir sehr viel." The Brazilian is currently still waiting for the appropriate visa before he can play for Inter Miami.

Career Stations and Achievements

At 34, Casemiro looks back on a successful career. He played for a long time at Real Madrid, with whom he won the Champions League five times. According to the club, he has made more than 90 appearances for the Brazilian national team, while other sources cite 91 caps.

At Inter Miami, Casemiro will meet a familiar former teammate: Lionel Messi, who previously played for FC Barcelona. The two know each other from their shared time in Spain. Messi's contract at Inter Miami runs through the end of 2028, when he will be 41 years old.
