The coalition factions of the CDU and SPD are preparing for a concentrated reform autumn in the Bundestag following the two-day cabinet retreat at Schloss Neuhardenberg, at the center of which is the planned pension reform.
The two-day closed meeting of the federal government at Schloss Neuhardenberg in Brandenburg ended late on Tuesday evening. Chancellor Friedrich Merz subsequently reaffirmed his intention to implement the reform proposals of the Pension Commission one-to-one. Connected with this is also the abolition of the existing regulation on early retirement without deductions. "Bundeskanzler Merz hatte gestern nach der zweitägigen Kabinettsklausur auf Schloss Neuhardenberg in Brandenburg bekräftigt, die Reformvorschläge der Rentenkommission eins zu eins umzusetzen und damit auch die abschlagsfreie Frühverrentung abzuschaffen," it said from the federal government.
