Kitzbühel, 16 July 2026

The world number nine Flavio Cobolli has withdrawn from the men's clay-court tournament in Kitzbühel, as the Tyrolean organisers announced on Thursday evening.

The Generali Open thus lose one of their main attractions. Cobolli, currently ranked ninth in the world, had played a heavy schedule in recent weeks and exited the tournament in Umag early. He has now decided to pull out in order to give himself a two-week break from competition ahead of the upcoming hard-court events in North America.

As the Italian player explained, he needs a break after the many matches of recent weeks in order to recharge his batteries. The organisers relayed this reasoning in a statement on Thursday evening. According to them, Cobolli had firmly committed to the Kitzbühel tournament early in the year.
