Construction group Porr reports strong profit increase for first half of 2026

Porr AG is one of the largest Austrian construction groups and active in several European countries. In its home market of Austria, the group also proved robust. According to the company, the current construction season has been going well, supported by projects in Vienna and its surrounding area. Strauss spoke in this connection of solid demand in residential and commercial construction.

Analysts view the half-year report overall as confirmation of the business performance to date. The combination of solid order intake, improved capacity utilization, and stable margins supports the earnings development. At the same time, market observers pointed to the continuing high significance of public infrastructure programs for the construction sector.

For the second half of 2026, the group expects the positive trend to continue. The high utilization of existing capacities provides room for additional projects without the need for major investments in new equipment or new capacities, the company said.

Outlook on the full year

Porr AG has recently expanded its market position in several European countries. Beyond its core markets of Austria, Germany, and Poland, the group also sees opportunities, particularly in Southeastern Europe. The upcoming investments in rail, road, and energy infrastructure are regarded as key growth drivers.

With regard to earnings per share (EPS), the company points to a noticeable improvement compared with the prior-year period. Higher productivity on construction sites and better utilization of equipment contributed to the improved results.
