Cortina d'Ampezzo, July 6, 2026

In the Italian resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, additional police patrols have been operating in the Dolomites since this week to crack down on reckless tourist behavior and educate visitors about rules aimed at protecting the mountain landscape.

Agreement between region and municipality

The measure is based on a newly concluded agreement between the Veneto region, the province of Belluno, and the municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo. As announced by the provincial police, officers will actively support local police during the heavily frequented summer season. The deployment begins this week and is initially scheduled to run until September.
