The number of crimes against homeless people recorded by police in Germany rose to 2,563 cases in 2025, representing an increase of nearly 17 percent compared to the previous year.
This emerges from a response by the Federal Ministry of the Interior to a Minor Interpellation by The Left, as reported by the "Rheinische Post" (Saturday edition). According to this, there were a total of 2,563 crimes against homeless people in 2025. In the two previous years, the figure had been just under 2,200 in each case. The number of crimes against homeless people rose in 2025 by nearly 17 percent compared to the previous year.
More than 2,000 cases last year were directed against homeless men; in just over 500 cases, women were affected. The majority of crimes were committed against men; in just over 500 cases, the victims were homeless women. The distribution shows that while men make up the clear majority of those affected, women are also targeted by attacks to a considerable extent.
