The Czech Republic's Constitutional Court issued a preliminary injunction on Wednesday allowing President Petr Pavel to attend the July NATO summit in Ankara, partially resolving a dispute with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
The injunction, announced by court spokesperson Pavel Samal, ordered the government and the foreign ministry to inform NATO summit organisers without delay that the president is part of the official Czech delegation. The court's ruling cited precedent from past presidents' attendance at such summits and the looming Friday accreditation deadline as grounds for acting immediately, rather than waiting for the broader constitutional case to be decided.
