The German leading index DAX is heading toward smaller price gains on Tuesday, thereby approaching its record high. Observers attribute the robust sentiment partly to the fact that geopolitical sabre-rattling is leaving hardly any traces on the markets. The German stock index DAX is trading on Tuesday morning within sight of its record high and, according to observers, is likely to start the trading day with small price gains.
At the start of the week, geopolitical tensions – particularly in connection with the USA, Iran, and the strategically important Strait of Hormuz – had dominated the news landscape. Share prices on the European stock exchanges, however, reacted cautiously. Market participants were on the whole calm, as the developments of the past trading days show.
