Dead 70-year-old found in single-family house in Ebreichsdorf – Police investigating in all directions

The investigations were taken over by the crime scene unit as well as officers from the "Life and Limb" division of the Lower Austria State Criminal Police Office. The criminal investigators secured evidence at the discovery site in order to reconstruct the course of events.

According to Baumschlager, the police are investigating in all directions. Neither a fall nor foul play by another person can be ruled out as the cause of death for the time being, the spokesperson explained.

The autopsy is now to provide clarity on what the woman died of and whether external violence played a role. The investigators are awaiting the results of the forensic medical examination before taking further steps in one direction or the other.

The discovery of the body comes amid a phase of increased police presence in the district of Baden. The authorities are asking that any suspicious observations in the Weigelsdorf locality be reported to the nearest police station.
