Augsburg, 27 September 2026

The German men's national football team played a home match in the Nations League in Augsburg against Greece and ultimately came away with the win.

The encounter at the WWK Arena was played under the banner of the Nations League and offered the German side the opportunity to assert themselves against a 2004 European Championship winner. In front of a home crowd, the team began focused, took control of the game early, and looked to push forward. The Greeks, however, proved a compact and uncomfortable opponent, closing down the spaces.

Despite Germany's territorial dominance, only few clear-cut chances were created. The best opportunity fell to Karim Adeyemi in the 32nd minute, when he got his shot off from a promising position. Greece's goalkeeper Tzolakis, however, was alert and saved the attempt, so that there was initially no goal.
