Historic Debut at the Cologne Stadium

In front of 33,425 spectators at the 1. FC Köln stadium, the DFB team celebrated not only a sporting success but also a historic moment: it was the first women's international match to be held in this arena. Marie Müller put the team ahead in the 18th minute, crowning her debut for the German senior team with a goal. In the 27th minute, Carlotta Wamser extended the lead to 2-0.

Müller is the twelfth debutant under national coach Christian Wück, who took office at the end of October 2024 with a 4-3 victory over England. The 25-year-old, born in Dortmund and who previously played in the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg, is currently active in the USA for Portland Thorns FC. She wore the number 7 jersey, which usually belongs to Giulia Gwinn, who was out due to shoulder surgery.
