German households with at least one paid digital subscription spend an average of 62 euros per month on such services – an increase of 55 euros within a year, as shown by a study presented on Thursday by management and technology consultancy BearingPoint in Frankfurt.

For the study, around 7,500 people in Germany, France and the United Kingdom were surveyed in February 2026. About 2,500 of the respondents come from German households that have taken out at least one paid digital subscription. "Damit liegen die Deutschen vor den Briten (69 Prozent) und den Franzosen (52 Prozent)", the study authors explained with regard to the willingness to share personal data for AI applications.
