Researchers at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) have presented results in Hamburg from a four-year research project showing that artificial intelligence can make air traffic controllers more productive and support pilots in choosing their routes.
Research Project and Participants
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) has presented its research findings on the use of artificial intelligence in air traffic control. At the heart of the project is a digital air traffic controller intended to support human controllers in managing air traffic. In addition, the researchers developed an assistance system for pilots that can suggest alternative flight routes and suitable diversion airports.
