Wolfsberg, 27 August 2026
The Austrian attacking player Dominik Fitz leaves the MLS club Minnesota United and returns to his home Bundesliga, where he joins Wolfsberger AC (WAC).
Fitz, whose development began at FK Austria Wien, looks ahead to a move to Austria's top flight. He himself expressed his delight about the return: "Ich freue mich sehr, dass ich wieder zurück in Österreich bin und kann es kaum erwarten, wieder am Feld zu stehen und Spielminuten zu sammeln." The statement underscores the player's personal motivation to regularly get playing time in the Bundesliga again after his stint in the USA.
From Austria's youth ranks to a Bundesliga professional
The 1.75-meter tall right-footer came through Austria Wien's youth setup from the age of seven and later made the leap to the professional squad there. For the Viennese club, he made a total of 204 competitive appearances, in which he scored 54 goals and registered 63 assists. This record makes him statistically one of the more productive attacking players that Austria Wien has produced from its own youth system in recent years.
