The EU Commission has recommended that Germany and eight other European countries end their internal Schengen border controls.

Current Situation in Europe

Currently, in addition to Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Slovenia are also controlling their borders with other Schengen countries. This is according to information from the EU Commission, reported by ARD correspondent Thomas Spickhofen from Brussels. Most of these countries justify the controls with threats to public security due to uncontrolled immigration, organized crime, or terrorist activities.
