The drone was discovered in a rural area of the Utena district, a region near Lithuania’s borders with Latvia and Belarus. Authorities confirmed the device was carrying explosives but reported no injuries or significant damage. Special forces secured the site and rendered the drone safe.
Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council on Wednesday to assess the situation. She assured the public that "there is no immediate threat to the population."
