Flight-tracking data reviewed by reporters showed the two aircraft passed in proximity during approach or departure operations at Reagan National, one of the busiest and most tightly controlled airspaces in the country.

The FAA confirmed it has opened a formal review of the incident, a standard procedure whenever aircraft carrying the U.S. president are involved in a reported air traffic event.
