Munich, August 25, 2026

FC Bayern München has extended the contracts of Sporting Director Max Eberl and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen early until the year 2029, as Supervisory Board Chairman Herbert Hainer announced on Tuesday in Munich.

As the German football record champions communicated, the employment contracts of the two board members were restructured on a long-term basis. Eberl has been serving as Sporting Director since February 2024, Dreesen has been functioning as Chairman of the Board of FC Bayern München AG since July 2023. With the extension, the club is binding its sporting and economic leadership beyond the current season.

Hainer pointed to the broad composition of the board, which also includes Rouven Kasper. With the contract extension, the Supervisory Board intends, by its own account, to ensure continuity in a phase in which FC Bayern wants to set new impulses internationally. The club had repeatedly won the national championship in the past Bundesliga seasons and made its mark in the Champions League.
