Golzow, July 16, 2026
Federal Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer (CSU) presented his "Heimatagenda" on Thursday in Golzow, Brandenburg, combining the event with the kickoff of his summer tour through eastern Germany.
The 30-page brochure is titled "Miteinander ist es Heimat" and bundles the ministry's plans for the current legislative period. According to the ministry, the focus is on reducing bureaucracy, supporting volunteer engagement, and strengthening people on the ground. In the black-red federal government, the agriculture portfolio is responsible for the Heimat (homeland) agenda.
Agenda with Three Main Focus Areas
Together with Petra Bendkämper, federal chairwoman of the Landfrauenverband (Rural Women's Association), Rainer presented the agenda in Chorin near Eberswalde. Bendkämper emphasized that rural areas are "Chancenräume für die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und die Transformation im Land." To attract families and gain workers, "gleichwertige Lebensverhältnisse" are needed.
