Vienna, 17 August 2026
Vienna, Lower Austria, Tyrol, and the federal government have in some cases significantly undercut the deficit they had planned for the first half of 2026, as current data shows.
In the first half of 2026, the deficit in Vienna comes in around 600 million euros lower than in the same period of the previous year. In Lower Austria, it is 200 million euros and in Tyrol 400 million euros below the prior-year value. Three major territorial authorities have thus so far clearly overfulfilled the targets agreed in the stability pact.
