Brandenburg's Ministry of Forestry and the Environment classifies the current forest fire danger in Brandenburg as mostly low and very low.

Data basis and assessment

The assessment is based on evaluations by the Ministry of Forestry and the Environment, which have been confirmed multiple times by independent sources. According to this, the danger level across large parts of the state is on the lower levels of the five-tier scale. "Die Waldbrandgefahr ist in Brandenburg inzwischen überwiegend gering und sehr gering, wie aus den Daten des Forst- und Umweltministeriums hervorgeht", the statement reads.

The agency regularly evaluates measurement data on temperature, precipitation, soil moisture, and wind in order to assess the regional forest fire danger. Both data from its own measuring stations and forecasts from meteorological services are incorporated. In Brandenburg, sandy soils and extensive pine forests are among the structural features that can fundamentally make the state vulnerable to forest fires.
