An Austrian woman is alleged to have redeemed 85 forged medical prescriptions in Vienna in order to obtain painkillers, and was provisionally detained at the end of July on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigations conducted by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office (Landeskriminalamt Wien) assume that the woman submitted forged prescriptions in pharmacies over an extended period of time. A total of 85 cases are attributed to her in which allegedly manipulated prescriptions are said to have been used. The apparent aim was access to painkillers.
Investigations and Arrest
The Special Public Prosecutor's Office for the Combating of Narcotics Crime, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, as well as the Zentrum Ost branch office were involved in the case. At the end of July, the woman once again attempted to redeem a forged prescription and was able to be provisionally detained on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office. The provisional detention was carried out on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office.
