Kyiv, Ukraine — May 14, 2026
Andrij Jermak, the former head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, was ordered into pre-trial detention for 60 days on corruption charges tied to a high-end real estate venture, with prosecutors alleging he and five others engaged in illicit multimillion-dollar transactions.
Charges and Court Proceedings
Jermak, 54, faces accusations of involvement in illegal financial dealings related to a luxury construction project, alongside five other suspects. During the hearing in Kyiv, the judge ruled that he could be released on bail set at €2.72 million, but Jermak stated he lacked the funds to pay.
The prosecution presented evidence including text exchanges between Jermak and a woman listed in his phone contacts as "Veronika Feng-Shui Büro." Ukrainian media reports identify her as a 51-year-old self-described astrological consultant from Kyiv. The chats reportedly included discussions about appointments to high-ranking government positions.
