A four-year-old child made their way unnoticed through an open window onto the roof of an apartment building in Dortmund on Monday afternoon and had to be rescued by the fire department.
Danger on the fourth floor
According to the fire department, the child had made their way unnoticed through an open window onto the roof on Monday afternoon. When the fire department and police arrived, the child was sitting in the gutter on the fourth floor and was in danger of falling. The incident commander described it as a "lebensgefährlichen Situation", because the child had leaned forward several times.
The fire department then deployed a turntable ladder and set up a jump cushion, according to a statement. The uninjured child was ultimately brought to safety via the ladder. According to police and the fire department, the child sustained no injuries in the incident.
