A spokesperson confirmed this on Thursday to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Düsseldorf. According to reports, the new financing also comes with plans to close additional stores. Negotiations over the credit line dragged on for weeks.
The credit line is being provided by the US investment firm Gordon Brothers, secured by Galeria's merchandise. The investor had previously organized clearance sales at Kaufhof and Karstadt locations before their closures. The funds are tied to a three-year restructuring plan, which is now set to be implemented.
