The Association of General Practitioners is launching a nationwide protest campaign against the austerity package in healthcare planned by Nina Warken (CDU).
Background: The Austerity Package at a Glance
The black-red coalition of CDU/CSU and SPD had previously initiated an austerity package intended to relieve statutory health insurance funds by more than 16 billion euros in 2027. The Federal Cabinet had decided on the plan to curb the rise in expenses and avoid higher additional contributions.
The Association of General Practitioners is now responding with a large-scale campaign. According to the association, around 50,000 general practitioner practices will be equipped with posters and information materials. Patients will also have the opportunity to contact their respective members of the Bundestag directly through an email campaign.
