Deutsche Bahn will complete the general renovation of the Hamburg-Berlin railway line on June 14 and fully resume train services on one of Germany's most important commuter routes.

Since August 2025, the 280-kilometer line between Hamburg and Berlin, which passes through five federal states, has been completely closed for comprehensive renovation. Around 30,000 passengers use the long-distance connection daily, with a total of 470 trains running per day on the corridor route. This makes the connection between the two largest cities in the Federal Republic one of the country's most important commuter routes.
