Several months after the completion of the ten-month general renovation of the Hamburg–Berlin railway line, only about one in four trains reaches its destination on time, according to consistent media reports.
The approximately 280-kilometer-long route underwent a general renovation from August 2025 to June 2026. This was accompanied by a ten-month full closure, during which around 2.7 billion euros were invested – roughly half a billion euros more than originally planned.
