Gerhard Zeiler has publicly addressed reports about a possible takeover of the SPÖ, dismissing a reported 100 million figure and outlining a policy agenda that backs Austria's current government while pressing for reforms in childcare, healthcare contracts, and the division of competences between federal, state, and municipal authorities.
Speaking in an interview, Gerhard Zeiler addressed the much-discussed reported figure of 100 million euros, dismissing it as a maximum figure listed in a proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. "Die 100 Millionen sind eine Maximalzahl in einem Proxy Statement einer börsenotierten Firma in Amerika an die Behörde SEC," he said. The clarification was framed as an effort to set the record straight on financial questions raised in the context of a possible SPÖ leadership bid.
