German actor Alexander Held, celebrated for his versatile performances in film and television, died unexpectedly on Tuesday at the age of 67 after a short illness, his close friend and producer Sven Burgemeister confirmed to the German Press Agency.

A Multifaceted Career

Held, a native of Munich, was best known to audiences for his role in the ZDF crime series "Munich Mord." His career spanned decades, with notable appearances in critically acclaimed films such as "Sophie Scholl - The Final Days," "The Shoe of Manitu," and "Downfall." He made his film debut in 1993 in the iconic crime series "Derrick" and later appeared in international productions, including Steven Spielberg’s "Schindler’s List."
