Berlin, 4 November 2026
The government estimates that statutory pensions in Germany could rise by 4.1 percent in 2027.
This assessment is based on a draft pension insurance report available to ARD's main studio. According to government information, pensions could therefore be higher in 2027. A final decision on the specific increase has not yet been made.
The report is intended to present the financial and social consequences of statutory pension insurance. It takes into account the development of pension system revenues and expenditures. At the same time, it describes factors that could influence future pension developments.
What the estimate means
The estimated 4.1 percent increase for 2027 would represent another adjustment to pensions. This would continue the development of statutory pension insurance. The actual amount of the increase next year will depend on the underlying calculations and the final political decision.
