A 40-year-old Graz resident triggered a large police operation on Friday afternoon in the Gries district by shooting at two men with a gas pistol who had previously kicked in his apartment door on Elisabethinergasse.

Around 4:30 p.m., a 42-year-old and a 33-year-old forced their way into the man's apartment on Elisabethinergasse in Graz's Gries district by kicking in the apartment door. The 40-year-old then grabbed a gas-powered pistol, which, according to police, he possessed illegally, and fired in the direction of the two intruders. The shots caused minor facial injuries to the two men.

Large Deployment and Roadblock

Bystanders heard the shots and alerted the police, which led to a large-scale operation. In addition to numerous patrol officers, the Cobra special unit was also deployed. Elisabethinergasse was cordoned off in the area of the incident. According to police, all involved parties were quickly secured.
