The Graz public prosecutor's office has had a 34-year-old Austrian citizen arrested, accused of raping his partner and subsequently stabbing her in the back with a knife in the night leading into June 28 in Graz.
The prosecution charges the man with attempted murder and rape. The woman suffered serious injuries in the attack. A forensic medical report was commissioned to determine the exact nature and severity of the injuries, as spokesperson Christian Kroschl of the Graz public prosecutor's office stated: „Wir haben ein gerichtsmedizinisches Gutachten in Auftrag gegeben, um die Art und Schwere der Verletzungen abzuklären."
According to the investigation, the crime took place in the night leading into June 28 in Graz in Styria. The man is said to have first raped the woman. He then stabbed her in the back with a knife while she was sleeping. The victim reportedly did not notice the stab wound until several hours later, according to investigators.
