Linz, 14 June 2026
At the turn of the week, a heatwave is announced in Austria, which, according to ZAMG meteorologist Alexander Ohms, will bring high-summer temperatures of 30 degrees and more from Wednesday.
Cool North Sea air at the start of the week
At the beginning of the week, cool North Sea air still determines the weather in Austria. As the weather service Geosphere Austria announced, "strömt nach wie vor kühle Nordsee-Luft ins Land". On Monday, temperatures are therefore widely between 19 and 25 degrees; in mountainous areas, early temperatures between eight and 16 degrees are possible. "Der Montag startet leicht wechselhaft, der Nachmittag verläuft dann etwas freundlicher", the forecast states. The wind "mit Spitzen bis zu 40 km/h bläst" is also blowing strongly, according to the report.
