Schlager singer Heino has filed a lawsuit against AfD Uckermark at the Innsbruck Regional Court and is demanding, according to his manager Helmut Werner, at least 30,000 euros in damages over a social media post relating to the April district administrator election.

Background of the post

Werner told the German Press Agency that AfD Uckermark had violated the personal rights and trademark rights of the 87-year-old. The post in question was published by AfD politician Felix Teichner on social media before the district administrator election in the Uckermark in April. It read: "Am Sonntag würde Heino Felix wählen." Heino himself had not said this, Werner stressed: "Das hätte er nicht getan."

According to the manager, the lawsuit is directed against AfD Uckermark as an organisation. According to court information, at least 30,000 euros are being claimed for non-material damage. With this, Heino's circle is responding to a form of election advertising that has repeatedly caused debate in recent years: the use of well-known faces without the consent of those affected.
