Schlager star Helene Fischer has defended the high ticket prices for her concert tour and, in an interview with ARD's "Tagesthemen," pointed to the staffing and logistical effort involved in her shows.

In a conversation with "Tagesthemen" on Friday evening, the singer addressed the debate that has been ongoing for weeks about the cost of tickets to her concerts. According to media reports, tickets for the tour start at around 70 euros. Fischer acknowledged: "Ja, Tickets sind teuer". At the same time, she pointed to the economic side of elaborate stadium productions.

The singer emphasized that many fans deliberately saved up for the concerts or even skipped vacation trips. "Viele sparten darauf oder verzichteten auf den Urlaub", said Fischer. That fans would make such sacrifices moves her personally: "Wenn sie das höre, gehe ihr das Herz auf."
