Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has hinted at a possible return to Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone and has triggered speculation about a link to the Chinese carmaker BYD.
During his appearance in Silverstone, Horner was seen alongside Alice Hedworth, the former head of corporate communications at Red Bull, and not alongside his wife Geri Halliwell. Hedworth had officially announced her departure from Red Bull two months before Horner's Silverstone appearance. The appearance in England thus fueled speculation about future joint projects.
Speaking to TV broadcaster Sky Sports F1, the 52-year-old Briton commented on his situation after leaving Red Bull. "Ich habe meine Auszeit genossen", said Horner. It was "das erste Mal" that he had had "Zeit abseits des Hamsterrads". At the same time, he stressed that he wanted to "das Richtige machen" in order to end up winning with a project, and that he was "nicht in Eile".
